The children in Kindergarten and Reception have been busy celebrating Chinese New Year. They have had great fun playing with Chinese drums, making Chinese lanterns, creating dragon heads and painting splodgy dragons too. Children in our Reception class made some fantastic dragon puppets and used them to dance and act out the Chinese New Year story. They also enjoyed Chinese Restaurant role play initiated by the children, and then ate real Chinese food. We finished the week with an immersive play session in the hall all about Chinese New Year and traditions.
