Little Bakers and Adventurers

In a day filled with creativity and adventure, the early years children recently brought the classic tale of The Gingerbread Man to life through a fun-filled baking activity and a thrilling treasure hunt. This hands-on experience not only sparked their imaginations but also reinforced key developmental skills.
The children began by baking gingerbread men, learning about measurement, following instructions, and practising fine motor skills as they shaped and decorated their cookies. Everyone was excited to eat their freshly baked gingerbread men, but when they returned to the classroom, all that remained was a trail of crumbs and a message left by the Gingerbread Man himself!
Determined to find their treats, the children set off on a treasure hunt around the school grounds. With clues to solve along the way, the hunt encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and reading skills. The children journeyed all over the school—visiting the kitchen, the Junior Library, and even Mrs. Periam’s classroom! Finally, a photo clue revealed that the Gingerbread Men were hiding in the home corner in Kindergarten.
At last, the children gathered to enjoy watching a version of The Gingerbread Man while eating their delicious, well-earned Gingerbread Men. It was a day full of learning, laughter, and adventure!
