Year 2 London Trip
Year 2 had a great time in London, they visited the Museum of London to start their Great Fire experience where they were able to see a fire hook, a reconstructed oven as used by Thomas Farrinor and primary evidence showing how hot the fire must have been: melted metal and soot-stained tiles discovered by archaeologists. After lunch, the children walked to St Paul's Cathedral, The Monument and Pudding Lane where we entertained passers-by with a rendition of 'London's Burning'. Some of the children (not to mention Mrs Wright and Mrs Chester) even found the energy to continue to see the Houses of Parliament which we have been learning about as part of the Gunpowder Plot and the Cenotaph.
