Our team arrived at St Hugh’s full of enthusiasm and energy, eager to play together. Although it was their first match as a team, it quickly became clear that they had gelled well and worked seamlessly on the pitch.

The first match was against St Hugh’s Blue. Both teams played some fluid, attacking football, but we maintained most of the possession and were slightly the stronger side, winning 1-0. 

Next up was St Hugh’s Red, and while the match was closely contested, St Hugh’s missed several opportunities to score. We capitalised on our one clear chance and netted an impressive goal, finishing 1-0. 

The final match, against Burton Hathow, was a hard-fought and even contest. Both teams had one real opportunity, but unfortunately, we missed ours, while Burton took theirs and scored the only goal of the game, ending 1-0. 

Our team was awarded the Sports Values ‘Progressive’ award for showing growth and teamwork. Congratulations to all the players and a big thank you to the parents for their unwavering support throughout the day!
