Admissions
Ayscoughfee Hall School is an Independent co-educational fee paying day school.
Intake into Kindergarten is in the September when your child is three years old, we are flexible particularly with the younger children. We will be happy to advise on this matter at any time.
Admission for older children is also subject to a basic teacher assessment. During this time, the children will participate in a range of tasks, which will give the teacher an idea of their varying abilities. We ask all children to visit the school for "taster" days prior to starting school to ensure they are happy and we are able to meet their needs.
We welcome prospective parents and children to visit our school at any time for individual tours and a talk with the Headteacher. We also host Open Mornings during the school year, where children give guided tours accompanied by School Governors. As you tour, there is an opportunity for you to chat informally to staff and afterwards some of our current parents and the Headteacher will be available to talk to you.
Our policy of small classes means that places are often at a premium and waiting times for certain classes can be long. We would encourage you to talk to us well before you need a place and, if you like what you see and hear, to register your child as soon as possible. We understand that there will be parents who are unable to register their children in advance, or who are perhaps moving into the area. If these circumstances apply to you, we would recommend that you contact us to check on availability of places.
If and when a vacancy does arise in any year group after Kindergarten, that place will be offered to the first child on the appropriate waiting list, who may join at any time during the academic year. Entry will only be confirmed, however, after a short, informal Maths and English assessments are completed.
